Providing high quality clinical supervision for eating disorder specialists nationwide + provisionally licensed mental health clinicians in California, Massachusetts, & Texas
I'm a licensed supervisor in many states across the U.S. with over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. I started on the floor as a tech and worked my way up, so I deeply understand the process of discovering your own therapeutic identity while navigating the logistical, ethical, and legal constraints of our profession.I work from a psychodynamic orientation and have experience across a wide range of mental health concerns, with a specialty in eating disorders. I have worked in all levels of care (inpatient, RTC, PHP, IOP, CMH, private practice) and also spent years as a utilization review case manager, which means I can help you decode the confusing world of insurance and billing!I received my M.A. in Counseling from Texas State University and my B.S. in Economics & Management from MIT. I am currently completing my medical degree at The University of Texas Medical Branch and am an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) candidate.

I am a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist Consultant/Supervisor (CEDS-C) and have worked most of my clinical career in eating disorder treatment. I trained in well-known national companies, including Center for Discovery, Monte Nido, and Eating Recovery Center. I emphasize a strong foundation in both psychiatric and medical components of eating disorders, in addition to the full recovery model as described in the 8 Keys to Recovery.
I am well versed in treating OCD, PTSD, and related anxiety disorders. I have extensive training and practice in exposure-based therapy, including: Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), all of which are considered gold-standard treatments by the APA.

Addictions span a wide range of concerns, including substance use disorders and behavioral addictions (such as sex addiction, gambling, impulsive shopping, or video game addiction). These may be co-morbid or secondary to other psychiatric concerns, such as ADHD or depression (often called "dual diagnosis"). I provide guidance based on my experience working several substance use detox + residential facilities, in addition to collaborating with individuals at MAT/MOUD and CCM programs.
Behavioral medicine is also called integrated care, psychosomatic medicine, or simply a biopsychosocial approach to health. This can include things like: chronic illness and pain, co-morbidities, psychiatric concerns secondary to medical issues, health behavior change, sleep issues, psycho-neurogenic diseases, and more. If you are a therapist working closely alongside physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, chances are you're practicing behavioral medicine!

And of course, with the range of my clinical experiences, I am well equipped to supervise most other presenting concerns ranging from personality disorders to relational conflict to ADHD and beyond!

My philosophy towards mental health aligns closely with Freud's quote:"[Therapy] does not set out to make pathological reactions impossible,
but to give the patient's ego freedom to decide one way or another.”As mental health practitioners, our responsibility is to help our patients build self-efficacy, develop the confidence to trust their inner voice, and shape their life in a way that makes them feel fulfilled. My supervision philosophy is much the same: I want to support new therapists in identifying their strengths and establishing their own unique style of working, whatever that may be!My supervision style is structured but flexible: we will build off of a standard session structure and a set curriculum of assignments, with plenty of opportunities to explore your individual career interests and/or what may come up in the moment.
I offer both pay-as-you-go and discounted monthly options for supervision. If you are located in a state where supervision must be paid by your employer, please reach out to see if they have a contract with Motivo Health, as I can provide services through their platform. All supervision is conducted virtually through HIPAA-compliant Zoom for Healthcare.
